I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Philosophy at Stockholm University. Together with Henrik Lagerlund and Erik Åkerlund, I am a member of the research project “The Mechanization of Philosophy, 1300-1700”. In 2017, I received my PhD from the University of Rennes under the supervision of Jean-Christophe Bardout, with a thesis on late medieval theories of hylomorphism entitled “Forma dat esse. Les mutations de la forme au Moyen Âge (ca. 1250-1350)”. From 2017 to 2020, I was a research and teaching assistant at the University of Nancy and at the University of Rouen (France), and I took up a post-doc position in theoretical philosophy at Stockholm University in 2020.

My main research interests are in the interaction between natural philosophy, metaphysics and mathematics in the Middle Ages. More precisely, my task in the research project is to investigate the increasing importance of mechanical explanations in late medieval thought focusing on three interrelated themes : the increasing reduction of formal causality to efficient causation ; the evolution of theories of material substances ; the quantification of natural properties.

Besides my work on medieval philosophy, I also have a few other interests in logic, contemporary metaphysics and philosophy of computing.
