Normative and applied ethics

I started as a PhD student in Practical Philosophy in September 2018. Before coming to Stockholm, I obtained a BPhil in Philosophy from the University of Oxford, with a thesis on the permissibility of defensive action against many threateners. I pursued my undergraduate studies at Utrecht University, where I studied philosophy and history.

My philosophical interests are mainly in normative and applied ethics. I am especially interested in distributive ethics, the ethics of defensive harming, just war theory, and moral responsibility. My PhD thesis will explore aggregation problems in the context of defensive harming.

In addition, I am interested in a wide range of issues in political philosophy and legal philosophy. I also enjoy studying the history of moral and political philosophy.
