Anders Schoubye is Senior Lecturer in philosophy at Stockholm University. He completed his PhD in philosophy at the University of St Andrews under the supervision of Herman Cappelen, Jonathan Schaffer, and Josh Dever in 2011. After finishing his PhD, Schoubye accepted a two-year position as Mellon postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, but was hired the year after as a lecturer in the philosophy department at the University of Edinburgh. Schoubye spent seven years in Edinburgh before accepting his current position in Stockholm.

Schoubye specializes in the philosophy of language, formal semantics, and logic, but his interests extend to topics in formal epistemology, philosophy of mind, and metaphysics. Schoubye has published papers on a variety of different topics, e.g. the semantics and pragmatics of definite descriptions and proper names, future contingents, linguistic underdetermination, and question sensitivity. He is currently working on a monograph on proper names. Schoubye also has a side interest in select issues in applied ethics.
