In "Belief revision for growing awareness", Katie Steele and I argue that there are hardly any general rationality constraints when it comes to awareness growth, for instance, when one becomes aware of scientific theories or evidence that one had previously failed to consider. In this talk, which is based on joint work with Steele, I argue that the same is not true when one predicts that one’s awareness will grow: rationality places surprisingly strict constraints on how you can expect yourself to respond to anticipated awareness growth.
